Christ Church opened on 5 July 1729 as part of the Fifty New Churches Act of 1711. A major restoration was completed in 2004 and the redeveloped crypt opened in 2015.

Adults: £6 / Qualified Guides bringing their own group: £30 per tour / Self-directed Groups bringing their own guide: £30 per tour / School Trips are welcomed for visits exploring; faith, architecture, history, the Huguenots, immigration, and Christianity.

Open church

The Church is normally open to the public: Sunday 13:00 - 16:00 /Monday to Friday 10:00-16:00 except when private events are taking place.

Please check with us that we are open (and not closed for an event or service) if you are travelling some distance to visit.



The internationally renowned Richard Bridge Organ was fully restored in 2015 today it is used for weddings, funerals, concerts and recitals, for more information please contact our organist Gerard Brooks at gb@gerardbrooks.org.uk

The Foundation

The Foundation is our fund for the long-term maintenance and repair of the church building. With the closure of the 'Friends of Christ Church Spitalfields’ (Dec. 2017), we welcome: one off donations, regular giving and legacies for the long term care of this historic and iconic building.
